Fundamentals of Music

Grades will consist of the following:
Scales
Etudes
Rhythm/Technique exercises
Tone
Materials

Scales will be graded on a pass/fail basis, meaning that if a student passes their scale off, they get a 100. If they make too many mistakes, they get a 0 for the scale. They will be able to replay that scale until they get a 100. No grades will ever decrease in value.

Everything taught and tested is in preparation for the end of the semester audition. Every week students will have 1-2 scales and an etude to pass off. Assignments will progressively get harder. Scales will eventually be passed off with a metronome and etudes will increase in difficulty level.
